CREATION OF A TUFTED ARMCHAIR DURING A RESIDENCY AT LOTTOZERO, ITALIAN TEXTILE LAB

This ornamented armchair is inspired by hand-drawings of textures of the mediterranean coast. The tufted patterns follow the movements of the pencil on the paper when drawing tree barks and rock textures, with colours taken from the coastal landscape. Through handwork, rough outdoor textures are translated into soft interior tactilities.

The armchair was tufted at Lottozero and produced with second-hand materials sourced in the South of France. Mohair, wool, linen and cotton were used to provide a wide range of textures.
